hi leon,

it might be worth contacting kate rich to see if there is a possibility
of extending homestay (social hotel system) that they are running for
wsfi to the end of October for your norwegian guests.

below is their original blurb calling for bedrooms- gives you the broad
idea.

Kate Rich and Sneha Solanki (hostexe.org) are developing a protocol for
a distributed hotel system in London, whereby local hosts provide
sleeping space for culturally-funded visitors in exchange for cash. We
will be beta-testing the hotel during september/october this year.

While breakfast, lobby and concierge services will be centralised, we
are looking to outsource bedroom locations anywhere around central /
east london.

The distributed hotel idea is based on mutual-benefit economics, with
the intention to a) undercut standard overblown london hotel prices; b)
provide the visitor with a more interesting experience than an Ibis &
c) reroute cultural funding away from tourist/service sector by paying
peer hosts direct.

The initial hosting periods are 26 September to 2 October, Oct 1-4,
and/or Oct 7-8,

As this is a trial run of the system, we will be offering hosts a flat
fee of around 100 GBP per guest (week) or 50 GBP per guest (weekend):
in future when the system's up & running we would expect to fix a
higher rate.

We anticipate demand for visitor accommodation in London to be ongoing.

The host can be either present or absent for the duration of the
homestay: hostexe will act as guarantor for the security of your
premises/the reasonable behaviour of your guest.

If you have space to offer, please contact us for more information. The
system is intended for simple sleeping & bathroom arrangements: you
will not be expected to be particularly entertaining or poach eggs.
Sleeping facility doesnt necessarily mean a spare room: deluxe
livingroom couches might work out fine.

Ah.....the tourists

Just a quick call for a room or rooms to house 3 Norwegian artists
Between the 25th of October and the 30th of October. There is of course
cash
to pay for their stay! They are from motherboard www.liveart.org
And are taking part in the C6 show in Shoreditch during the same dates.
They are good folk and we are trying to redistribute the wealth to the
network rather than chains of hotels.

If not, suggestions for cut price non chain hotels or bnb's in the east
end
would be very helpful

Let me know

leon
