ABERTURA is a one day event in Lisbon which presents VJing and
realtime visual performance by national and international artists.
ABERTURA will be the first event of it's kind in Portugal. This first
attempt will focus on, and explore, a variety of technical approaches
to making "live visuals".

ABERTURA is also about openness to new art forms, to new technologies
and to each other. In keeping with the RogueWaves
(http://roguewaves.net) mission, the purpose of this event, hence its
name, is to open up the concept of visual performance, to people of
various artistic and cultural backgrounds from around the world, both
physically and virtually present. The event is based on the idea of
collaboration on an international as well inter-media level in order
to further the evolution of the already growing movement towards
mutual understanding through art and technology.

Sunday, July 22nd, 7:00pm Lisbon (GMT) time, we invite you to attend
and/or participate in ABERTURA, by visiting us at Rua D. Pedro V, 76A,
in Lisbon, Portugal or by creating an account at www.operator11.com,
which we will be using for our attempt at an international live
audiovisual stream.  We will be live at approximately 1:30 am
Lisbon(GMT) under the name of "monkeyfish".

ABERTURA é um evento de um dia, que apresenta VJing e performance
visual em tempo real por artistas nacionais e internacionais. ABERTURA
será o primeiro evento deste género em Portugal. Esta primeira
tentativa vai-se concentrar e explorar a variedade de tecnologias
utilizadas para fazer visuais "ao vivo"; sejam elas "ao vivo" em
termos de haver alguem fisicamente presente para manipular e processar
imagens, ou "ao vivo" no enquadramento de uma instalação ao vivo.

ABERTURA tem a ver com abertura a novas formas de arte, a novas
tecnologias e a uns aos outros. De acordo com a missão de
RogueWaves(http://roguewaves.net), o propósito deste evento, daí o seu
nome, é abrir o conceito de performance visual a pessoas de vários
historiais artisticos e culturais de todo o mundo, tanto presentes
fisicamente como virtualmente. Este evento é baseado na ideia de
colaboração, tanto a nível internacional como inter-media, para
propagar a evolução do movimento, cada vez maior, a favor da
compreenção mutua atravez da arte e da tecnologia.

Domingo, dia 22 de Julho, as 19:00h horario de Lisboa, convidamos para
presenciar e/ou participar em ABERTURA, visitando-nos na Rua D. Pedro
V, 76A, em Lisboa, Portugal ou creando uma conta em
www.operator11.com, o qual utilizaremos para a nossa tentativa de
fazer um stream audiovisual ao vivo.  Estaremos presentes a partir da
1:30 da manha, horario de Lisboa (GMT) sob o nome de "monkeyfish".
