What's happening in UpStage at the moment:

*Next open session: Wednesday 4 March, 8pm NZ time*

The next open session in UpStage will take place from 8-9pm NZ time on
Wednesday 4 March; find your local time here: http://tinyurl.com/bxk5ea

This session will be primarily to announce the call for performances for
the 090909 UpStage Festival, taking place on 9 September this year. If
you are interested in submitting a proposal, please try to come along to
this session. It will be an opportunity to learn about 090909 and the
call for proposals, and perhaps to meet potential collaborators. If you
can't make the session, the call will be emailed out, there will be
information on the web site, and there will be more open sessions.

If you are a newbie and want to learn the basics of UpStage, you are
welcome to come along to this session but be aware that the focus will
be on 090909 rather than on how to use UpStage (there will be other
sessions for this).

Please reply to this email to request a guest log-in for the open
session, which will be held at http://upstage.org.nz:8084/stages/swaray
(you can click on this link to enter the stage as audience, without
logging in).

*Pilot Installation Project*

UpStage is a server-side applcation - you don't install it onto your own
computer, but access it via a web browser; the application sits on a
central web server. If you want your own UpStage, which you can
customise and control who has access to, then you need to install it
onto a web server. At the moment, this is possible - but quite
difficult. So the focus of our work on UpStage this year is to improve
the installer package and documentation for doing this, and develop
processes for supported installation.

We are applying for funding in New Zealand to do this, and looking for
organisations who may be interested in being part of an installation
pilot. If your organisation is based in NZ and wants its own UpStage
installation, please email helen at upstage.org.nz
