These are great, Joel.
I'm always racing around and sometimes when you announce things I put off looking because I know they'll require time to even begin to engage with properly.
I read the new five and then went back and read some of the earlier ones. As always there's such a richness about what you do , a *thickness* to the prose that makes it feel more akin to poetry.
The images are haunting and beautiful and breadth of reference (and empathy) astonishing.
There's something strange and wonderful about you having chosen to make work of this slowness and depth on the most hurried and shallow medium but the way you do it does feel exactly right... And there's something very modern ( which of course would be instantly recognisable if you were quoting video, or gifs or something) about your methodology... I love the way the lyrical abuts against the technical or scientific description...
I'm interested to know how long one of these pages takes you to make?- they feel like the distillation of a good deal of work, with a lot of reading and reflection before and during the actual writing. Does the image come at the same point in the chain each time?
michael
