SuperCollider Symposium 2012: Keynote speaker announced.

The SuperCollider Symposium 2012 (April, London, UK) will be an
excellent gathering of music and art programming folks from around the
world. <http://www.sc2012.org.uk/>

We're pleased to announce that our KEYNOTE SPEAKER will be TAKEKO
AKAMATSU! <http://www.craftwife.com/> Takeko is a sound designer and
performance artist. She is known in Japan for her multimedia
performances, and stunned the audience at the 2007 SuperCollider
Symposium with water-pistol and laptop destruction. Takeko wrote the
chapter "SuperCollider in Japan" in The SuperCollider Book, published
last year by MIT Press.

In 2008 Takeko formed the band CRAFTWIFE, who play 70-80's style
techno pop music in the special costume that may remind you of a
certain German band (though in miniskirts). Craftwife use iPhones to
control an original sound synthesis program made with SuperCollider
and a video sampling system.

See this video for a snippet of Craftwife plus some of the other
fantastic things you might encounter at this year's SuperCollider
Symposium:
