outdoor site-specific works around the Lee Navigation, Hale Wharf and
Markfield Park and invite proposals from artists based in Tottenham.
*WHO:*Artists living or working in Tottenham with a practice including
site-specific work
*WHAT:*Accepting a commission to produce a new site-responsive work to
be part of a group exhibition sited around the waterways in Tottenham,
particularly the Lee Navigation and Hale Wharf area and Markfield Park.
As a peer-support network, all artists take an active role in the
organisation of the event and commissioned artists will also contribute
in a manner that fits their interests/skills.
The commission is subject to funding being secured for the project.
*WHEN:*Exhibition in development for late August 2013 (expected to run
for a 2-3 day period)
*PAYMENTS:*£500 fee (subject to funding)
*ABOUT US:*Founded in 2008, POST is the peer-led network for artists who
respond to place. Some of our members live in Tottenham and are keen to
introduce the network to the area and build a new project here.
POST stages site-specific shows reflecting the diverse practices of its
members. In a POST project artists from the network respond to one place
– led and curated by members who have a personal involvement with that
locality. POST projects can be situated anywhere, including engaging
with overlooked and disused spaces and investigating notions of public
space.
*APPLY:*We want to hear your ideas and are inviting initial proposals.
Please e-mail us with either a link to your website, or 3-5 images (low
resolution) of current work, a 150 word proposal of a new site-specific
work, a CV and a 150 word artist’s statement.
Please include your name, contact details and full address, and note any
particular skills and experience that you would bring to the exhibition
organising team.
Shortlisted artists will be invited to meet the team coordinating the
exhibition.
