Actually lots of people - me included - buy rolling paper for the express
purpose of rolling cigarettes. Rolling tobacco is a lot cheaper and nicer
than the pre-rolled stuff. Of course rolling paper - like most things - can
be used for more than one purpose; I've even seen it used in scratch model
building as blankets.

As for the art market, it is a good vehicle for conspicuous consumption but
also for speculation and money laundering: why would the prices have to be
so high otherwise? Is anything really worth that kind of money?
