Alpha-ville LIVE takes place at Kings Place Hall 1 on Sunday 18th May. The
special evening features a double bill of live audiovisual performances by
award-winning Montréal-based artist Herman Kolgen.

INJECT

Modular live performance in HD awarded the Honorary Mention at Prix Ars
Electronica 2010. The genesis of the principal material for this
performance was a shoot, in an immerse cistern filled with water, which
lasted for six consecutive days. “Inject” illustrates the strange
disconnection between the physical and emotional states of being.

DUST

Quadra audio live performance in HD inspired by 1920 Marcel Duchamp and Man
Ray's photograph "Elevage de Poussiere". “Dust” is based on a 5 year
personal photography project during which Herman Kolgen envisaged pictures
of floors and dusty surfaces. In “Dust”, Herman creates a link between the
visible and invisible, where dust becomes vertigo and produces, on the
surface of the video, a veritable accumulation of X-rays.
