Freelance Artist Commission

Inclusive Fee up to: £32,5000

The Library Service of Sefton MBC on Merseyside seeks an artist or
consortia of artists able to deliver a multi-strand commission with the
digitisation of the boroughs archive of historic photographs and
watercolours at its heart. Sefton's Library Service and the museum of

will shortly begin the process of transfer into a digital format,
offering an artist skilled in the creative use of digital media the
opportunity to reinterpret the material in consultation with community
groups and schools. The artist or consortia will generate new work for
display across the digital screens of the library service and add
locally-relevant content to The Atkinson museums extensive digital
resources.

The artist or consortia appointed will be experienced in the successful
delivery of community engagement processes, producers of original art of
the highest quality in a digital format and effective communicators and
project managers.

The commission fee is inclusive of costs associated with the community
engagement programme, research and consultation processes and the
generation of original interpretive artwork. The fee will be paid in
installments and subject to successful completion of each commission
stage. The estimated duration of this commission is approximately 12
months from exchange of contracts.
