Hello
I've produced a 2-part series for Radio 4 looking at how artists use the
internet to create and distribute work. It's called Arts Technologica and
is presented by Martha Lane Fox.
The first programme is broadcast today at 4pm and looks at how fast network
speeds allow musicians to play together remotely. Kevin Godley's Whole
World Band; Eric Whitacre's Virtual Choir; musicians from the RCM, the BBC
Scottish Symphony Orchestra, the Scottish Chamber Orchestra; the Young Vic
Theatre, the Met Opera all feature in the programme. And the Director of
Musion, the company that produced holograms of Tupac Shakur for the
Coachella festival and Narendra Modi's election campaign, gives a
(disturbing!) insight into how we may experience concerts in the future.
The second programme is broadcast next Monday at 4pm and looks at how
artists use the internet to create and distribute work and to comment on
how digital technologies are shaping our lives. Featured artists include
Vuk Cosic, Lucky PDF, James Bridle, Thomson and Craighead, Liz Sterry,
David OReilly, Kate Genevieve and Furtherfield's Ruth Catlow with artist
Dave Miller.
I'm delighted Radio 4 commissioned these programmes and I'd like to give a
huge thanks to Furtherfield and especially Netbehaviour. It I'm a bit of
a lurker here - don't post too often, but it's always a pleasure to find
out about all the fantastic work out there. You've been a huge influence
during production of the programmes and I hope you can find time to listen.
If you do, I would be really grateful for feedback.

Thanks again and all the best
