Please join us for a very special reading (in English language) of an
experience/ play in development for the Dutch national theatre.
There will be lots of opportunity to take part in the performance and
discuss the creative process with the Director, Sytze Schalk
‘The Girl’ *(Het Meisje)* is a short interactive performance (30 min), and
forms part of ‘The Revolve’ (*De Wentel)*, a Dutch multi-year project
consisting of theatre performances, card games, videogames, online
literature, an interactive platform and more.
‘The Girl’ is a form of "smartphone theatre": the audience dictates the
flow and the outcome of the story through their smartphones (powered by
Conducttr). The smartphone is also used to view additional content during
the performance, such as illustrations, documents and letters from the
storyworld of ‘The Revolve’.
‘The Girl’ takes place in a grubby cell in the main headquarters of the
secret service of Pins, the dictator of the fictional city Lida. It’s story
is about a meeting between a captive girl and an agent of the regime. The
girl has been sentenced to death. Both her and the agent are different than
they seem to be, and both her and the agent want something from each other.
The question: hoe far will they go to obtain it?
