[NetBehaviour] The General Election

Faced with two major parties both offering austerity and racism it's not entirely unsurprising that voters chose the ones who presented themselves as being most confident and straightforward. It's instructive to compare this with what happened in Scotland where an SNP who were at least rhetorically  miles to the left of Labour - anti austerity, anti Trident &c wiped the "red tories" off the political map.In Hayes and Harlington, one of the few remaining authentic Labour lefts John McDonnell *increased* his majority by 5000.
It wasn't that people rejected left or anti austerity policies -in England they weren't offered them on any scale. It's the rotten, cowardly , lacklustre, placating the racists, pro austerity campaign by Milliband et al that is responsible for the disaster visited upon us...michael
