Dear all
This is a reminder for our Digital Performance Weekender: Data Bodies,
which is taking place at Watermans on Saturday 14 and Sunday 15 November.
The Digital Performance Weekender is an annual festival at Watermans
inviting artists and researchers to share work, take part in discussions
and explore directions, intersections and collaborations in performance,
dance, sound, technology and more. This year's edition will include
performances, installations, participatory events as well as a symposium
and workshops.
Event highlights include Alexander Whitley's visually striking and
kinetically charged choreography The Measures Taken, made in collaboration
with digital arts studio Marshmallow Laser Feast; Anna Dumitriu's new work
Sequence that fuses leading edge digital technology with bacterial bioart,
traditional media and altered historical artefacts to artistically
investigate the emerging technology of whole genome sequencing of bacteria
and consider what it means to us personally, culturally and socially; You
are my data symposium instigating public debate around issues of privacy in
relation to big data; and many more.
