Thanks Edward for your comments about my interview with Marc and Ruth!

Although live participation in Networked Conversations is in my opinion more engaging, I am glad that you found the recording interesting. These recorded conversations are intended to be in the public record and through the Third Space Network project, I am building a historical archive of both online and offline interviews with notable figures in the networked arts. Certainly, the ideas and projects that Marc and Ruth have explored over the years need to be documented, as I am sure there will be plenty of books and articles written in the years to come that reference and discuss their important work.

All the best, Randall

Ruth, Marc and Randall,

This was great! Really absorbing. I thought 'Blimey, it's an hour and a half long - I'll never get through all that', but then once I got into it I found it completely compulsive. I was particularly interested in the stuff about how Furtherfield grew out of the punk DIY ethos of the late '70s and early '80s, because that very much chimes with my own experience - although in my case it took the form of publishing poetry magazines rather than getting involved in pirate radio.

Very inspiring!

Last year Ruth Catlow & Marc Garrett, co-directors of the London-based Furtherfield gallery for arts, technology and social change, were invited onto The Third Space Network hosted by Randall Packer, to discuss their approaches, use and motives for engaging with infrastructures, platforms, and network - to see what this means to them.
