I couldn't agree more. I work in the NHS, which depends really heavily
on people from overseas. Care homes, community nursing and doctoring
would all fall to pieces without them. Yet these people are being made
to feel unwelcome in our country, basically because the Tory party is so
frightened of losing votes to UKIP - or, to put it another way, because
the right wing of the Tory party shares such a lot of common ground with
UKIP.
I'm glad to see the Independent taking up the cudgels about this.
