~ balance between high strings and low, avoiding the middle
strings as much as possible. so that the fingers stretch for
two independent lines, occasionally reaching into the middle
latitudes. difficult playing. i was half asleep half awake.
that helped. neither one nor the other. intermediaries. so
that much action occurred with my entire hand/arm reaching
over the fingerboard, not the usual position. to reach across
instead of around. much flailing. but a music emphasizing i
am a man mad about music. that i can do whatever i need to do
to the best of me. which means whatever is ugly is acceptable.
as is the rest (of me). so that i would do what i would not
have done before and would be okay with that. when i wouldn't
have been. before. but not now. or now rather different. for
in the shadow of death this is an opportunity. this different
playing. this remonstrance. this epiphany
