And after a number of months, almost a year, we were back at
Caratunk, and thereupon came across a number of somewhat blue
fungi, lichen, mold, and so forth, unusual for us in these parts
of the world, taking our breath away in fact, as if there were a
scripture of such, and then so much necessary decipherment of
such, as if we were mouthing the syllables of an other altered
world, with full recognition of the phenomenology and biological
problematic of the color blue and what produces such, of such an
uncanny presence in the grey-white winter, the tan-brown winter,
the black-silver winter, of such were the cuneiform remarkings
just beyond our ability, and then the difficulty of the
photography in the dull gloomed later afternoon lustre of an
almost invisible sun, barely holding its own, of such we were
made at the beginning of the end of our presence on the planet,
as if there were a mote or dust blurring our vision, as well as
that of the camera as such
