I really really really love this piece, and yes, Richard Long and then
there's also Hamish Fulton, and the British father and daughter that just
rowed across the Atlantic and I think he rowed solo between N. America and
Australia and of course there are asymptotics like sin(tan(x)) approaching
0 (which produces interesting symmetries on calculators) - and the colors
in your piece are amazing as is the slight raggedness of the line itself.
