Hi all,

I have recently begun to think that the Mona Lisa is very much about the network era of human development, an interactive architecture, map, or model so to speak of human networks. My hypothesis is that this interpretation and mode of engagement could arguably offer different and possibly more useful roles for the painting than applying the "work of art in the age of mechanical reproduction" approach.

Does anyone have any thoughts about the Mona Lisa, related or unrelated?

Main discussion topics could be the bridge becoming the garment, water eroding earth, pre-technological evolution, the hydrology of medium and fabric, eye as transition-point for the horizon-shift from nature to art, the face-heart-hands composition, interactive expression, primary image of a corpus, mindfulness meditation, embodied wisdoms, default mode network, networks of rotation, infinity categories.

Thanks,

Max
