State Machine: heron, lights, Emergency.

This is down by the riverside - and across a river and up at an
angle to the right which is roughly in the direction of the
northeast. There's an emergency light blinking on and off. Off in
the other direction towards the west southwest there's a series
of blinking lights on two levels. Are these answers and calls?
They're not ordinary beacons. They seem to signal events relating
to the hospital complex which is about half a mile away - perhaps
guiding medical helicopters to a heliport. Perhaps it's none of
this. Two of the banks of lights are connected to a parking
garage. They blink as if they're signaling an emergency. They're
signaling an emergency.

The other beacon, a single light, answers from a tall building.
In the midst of all this a heron is fishing. The heron moves to
the end of the pier, makes a futile attempt to catch a fish in
the Providence River, returns, repeats several times and then
flies off with better luck upstream. The Heron time is not the
time of the emergency, the emergency has slowed up to identify
with the heron time.

All of this is uncomfortable, flat, pasty. All of this is as if
the substance of the world has become viscous, - oh, in other
words - something that is uncomfortable to live within. This was
the tableau down by the river last night. We live within time but
among temporalities. This is a cheap and easy way, a sleazy way
to create something that imitates or mocks those temporalities.
(For a moment.)  It's as if you can breathe art in and out, in
and out. It as if you could make something that has some kind of
relevance. Relevance with very cheap means, a cheap video camera,
real sense of exhaustion, hardly anything to go on. It would be
amazing if it could be filmed in 4k 8K! But it can't be so you
have to look Through the Image, Through the Video and imagine an
ideal world where all of these temporalities rub against each
other. O Beauty. I can create tensions between quietude and
emergency between dying and breathing. I'd say more but you've
absorbed enough in this. ( - no idea what was going on. and
enough already - )
