Right now things are a bit unstable, because Mastodon relies on local
servers, many of which are being slammed. If a server is down, or busy,
then syncing up things like the timeline or search functions slow down (or
go down) as well. If you try again later, you may find that folks who did
not appear are appearing again. There are other weirdnesses too: I cannot
log in on a browser, for example!
