He loved moles and would sit for hours at night in the field in the hope he might see one - at least a snout or little foot.  Never did they show up - except one night quite a few were seen capering about in among the closed buttercups - their noses wet they snouted in the velvet thingy ha ha down in the Bible black and warm summer night rain.  He capered too - good reason to.
