The 1917 Martin Terz

with long covid writing with eyes closed yet again, the Martin
terz is a small but deep guitar from 1917 that was restored
after Azure found it tettering on a shelf in a junky back room
of an antique store in Maine, it was literally through the war I
think, some repairs with small nails, I have it strung low with
nylon nylgut and it plays wonderfully, I think Marty Robbins was
the only professional player outside of the early bands perhaps
German, I don't remember, that used various sizes, even a bass
guitar, anyway miinimally restored except for the addition of
anew bridge, the old one had been oddly made a mess of and was
useless, anyway so this is the music, nothing moving in the
video, just background support for the sound, it's just there,
what can i say, there was ahuge electric outtage today, lucky i
can type here and now and then there's the usual covid
bleariness, but last night with the terz was wonderful, haptic,
acoustic, visual, the feel of the well-worn neck to be sure, the
sharp edges of the 1917 frets (widh I believe, if only in my
imagination, might slightly emphasize the higher partials, even
with the pressure of the fingers there's that resonance), if
you're with me this far, at least stay for the music, nothing
moving in the video -
