I had to bow out of a conference today, and in part sent the reply below; 
it's difficult for me to have a schedule etc. Hopefully this will pass 
soon. I know of two other people in the arts with the same situation 
(severe long covid w/ flareup) - it's a mess. - just thought you should 
know my current situation - Alan


"I want to apologize for not attending the ELO today - it was my highest 
priority to do so. As you may know, I have a severe case of long covid, 
and it's been acting up - gastrointestinal issues constantly flaring. I 
don't sleep, don't really 'wake up,' and have to keep running to the 
bathroom for medication; it's the 3rd day like this and I feel like I'm 
about to fall over. I wanted to do a short talk about this, but even if I 
had been given the opportunity, I wouldn't have been able to. I look 
forward to seeing the documentary videos of the conference, and frankly 
wish to hell I could have participated; ELO is a large part of my 
intellectual community.
